Easter is a very important celebration in the Christian calendar. It is the day on which we remember and rejoice in the glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. At Vinespring Church, this is no different.
For the past 3 weeks we have been examining the theme of Passover. We have sought to understand the crucifixion of Jesus in the context of the Jewish passover, which began in the story of their exodus from Egypt and continues among many traditional and messianic Jews till this day. We have followed the master in his final journeys into Jerusalem, his challenge to the trading worshippers, and his eventual agony in Gethsemane. In both the old and new testament, the slaying of a 'Lamb without blemish' was required, and it is the blood of the lamb that secures a safe passage from under the sword of the 'Angel of death'. For He said,
"The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt."- Exodus 12:13
This Easter, we will follow the Lamb to the cross and beyond in the power of his resurrection. Why not make a date with us to hear what the Lord may have to say to you and to all of us together, in the blood of His Lamb-Jesus Christ.
